OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Brazil, July 6th 2023 - We believe in the unification of Brazilian professional football, bringing together all Serie A and Serie B clubs into a common partnership, for the advancement of Brazil as a global leader in world football. From our perspective, an improved dialogue and under­standing between participating clubs can provide a pathway to achieve our vision of unification and sustainable collaboration. 

In the past few months, as we tirelessly strived to reconcile the divergences between LIBRA and the Liga Forte Futebol, we encountered two fundamental obstacles that were difficult to overcome. The first was the desire to maintain the status quo in the industry. The other was the dispute among different stakeholders who are more concerned with their own agendas than with the future of football in the country.

We decided to position ourselves independently and amicably in the 'middle', and we are thrilled to announce that Botafogo, Coritiba, Cruzeiro and Vasco have now formed a unified group to enter into a new contract with Serenguetti and LCP. 

With the formation of our centrist group, we wish to bring together the economic benefits offered by the financial backers of LFF with the governance initiatives that once seemed possi­ble with LIBRA. ln the end, we found that it was much easier for us to form a new group, with a blank canvas on which we can write and discuss the rules of our new league and define the product that we should project to the world. 

We invite all clubs to put aside historical differences and bring your best ideas to the 'middle' with us, in the principled support of the evolution of Brazilian football. 

Our principies for the formation of the future new Brazilian league are as follows: 

- Governance of the football League will be the exclusive domain of the Clubs, with each Club having representation on the Board;

- Leadership of the Media Company will be a separate collaboration between the League and the Strategic Financial Partner;

- lmplementation of Financial Fair Play, with adjustments to address the shortcomings of the widely tested mechanisms in Europe;

- Minimum standards of facilities and playing surfaces to achieve parity with the highest standards of global football;

- Direct management of game officials and referees, in collaboration with CBF, including standards of education and accountability;

- Relegation and promotion of only 3 clubs per division, following the world standard and creating greater stability for the Brazilian product in the market;

- Pursuit and development of advanced technologies enabling Brazil to become a world leader in the quality of our televised visual experience and the efficiency of global content distribution;

- Establishment of Club-controlled commercial properties, explored individually by each club, also following the European standard;

- Sale of commercial and media rights with appropriate valuation.

Finally, as we have enjoyed our conversations with good friends on each side and we will continue to work tirelessly towards the creation of a unified league through dialogue with all clubs.
